Combined Program Pathways

The BSA-MSA Combined Program Pathways will challenge students and develop their knowledge and understanding of concepts in aeronautical science while integrating their skills in aviation and aerospace applications. Applicants must have at least a 3.00 CGPA and have demonstrated superior academic capability as described below.

Students desiring to enter this program should apply for the Combined Program Pathways during their senior year of study (at least 75 completed credit hours). Details of the program can be obtained from their academic advisor.

Students who are accepted into the program will spend three academic years in undergraduate-level study, then during their senior year will be allowed to take up to three graduate-level courses from their selected MSA specialization to replace an equal number of elective courses in the BSA degree. MSA core courses cannot be selected as one of the three MSA courses selected.

Before selecting the three courses, students must confer with an advisor to ensure that the courses align with their selected MSA specialization. Upon completion of BSA requirements, students will be enrolled in the MSA and continue through their degree completion.

Undergraduate students taking a graduate-level course must earn a grade of B or better. If a grade of C or F is earned in any of the courses taken in lieu of the elective courses in the BSA degree, the student will be removed from the program and may continue to complete the BSA degree only.

This program is for students who are committed to continuing their education through the master’s degree. This fast-paced program allows qualifying students the opportunity to complete both the Bachelor of Science in Aviation Maintenance (BSAVM) and the Master of Aviation Maintenance (MAM) in five academic years.

Students who are accepted into the BSAVM-MAM Combined Program Pathways will spend three academic years in undergraduate-level study, and then, during their senior year, will be allowed to take up to three graduate-level courses from the MAM to replace an equal number of elective courses in the BSAVM degree. Before selecting the three courses to be taken, students must confer with an advisor to ensure that the courses selected are suitable (a grade of B or better must be achieved). Upon completion of the BSAVM requirements, students will be enrolled in the MAM and can complete their degree in one year. In any graduate course taken by an undergraduate student, a grade of B or better must be earned. If a grade of C or F is earned in any of the courses taken in lieu of the elective courses in the BSAVM degree, the student will be removed from the program, have credit awarded to the BSAVM degree only and may continue to complete the BSAVM degree.

As a minimum, the applicant must have at least a 3.00 GPA. Students initiate program acceptance through their Academic Advisor or Campus Advisor to help ensure program criteria are met. A Student Advisor will complete the request for processing into the program.

This program is for exceptional students who are committed to continuing their education through the master’s degree. This fast-paced program allows qualifying students the opportunity to complete both the Bachelor of Science in Aviation Safety (BSAVS) and the M.S. in Aviation Safety Master of Science in Aviation Safety (MSAVS) in five academic years. 

After spending three academic years in undergraduate-level study, BSAVS students who are accepted in the BSAVS-MSAVS program option will be allowed to take up to three MSAVS courses to replace an equal number of remaining BSAVS courses during their senior year. Before selecting the courses to be taken, students must confer with an advisor to ensure that the courses selected meet the program requirements. A grade level average of B or better must be maintained for selected MSAVS courses while enrolled in the BSAVS to MSAVS program.

Students who fail in any of their selected MSAVS courses or fail to maintain a grade average of B or better while still completing BSAVS degree requirements will be removed from the program option, have credit awarded to the BSAVS degree only, and may continue to complete their undergraduate degree program. 

This elite program will challenge students and further develop their knowledge, skills, abilities and attitudes in the concepts of aviation and aerospace safety while integrating their gained experience. Students will learn the theory and application of system safety and human performance, as well as the practical management of safety programs, safety data analysis, and accident investigation. They will hone critical thinking, teamwork and communication skills while learning from experts in the field and collaborating with students from around the world. Subject areas include industrial and ground safety and emergency management as well as flight operations safety. This program will prepare students for careers in operations or safety with traditional employers such as major airlines, or with new entrants in unmanned systems or commercial space. Students will have the option to access Prescott campus facilities such as the crash investigation lab.

As a minimum to be considered for acceptance to the BSAVS-MSAVS option, applicant students must hold at least a 3.00 GPA, have completed at least 75 credit hours of the BSAVS program requirements to apply and have demonstrated superior academic capability.

By combining the Bachelor of Science in Communication (BSCOMM) with the Master of Science in Human Security and Resilience (MSHSR), students gain a unique advantage, equipping them with advanced communication skills and interdisciplinary expertise to effectively address pressing global challenges.

Students accepted into the program, spend three academic years in undergraduate-level study of Communication. Students pursuing the program must select the BSCOMM Program Specialization in Crisis, Risk & Resilience Communication. At the beginning of the senior year (having earned at least 75 credit hours with a 3.0 CGPA), students will take 9 credit hours of MHSR coursework.

Upon completion of Bachelor of Science in Communication (BSCOMM) requirements, students will be enrolled in graduate school and can complete their Master of Science in Human Security and Resilience (MSHSR) degree in one year. Instead of COMD Open Electives, students will take MHSR 500 Introduction to Human Security and 2 courses from the following options: MHSR 515 International Law and US Security Policy, MHSR 520 Principles of International Conflict Resolution, MHSR 530 Environmental Security, or MHSR 540 Foundations of Resilience.

In any graduate course taken by an undergraduate student, a grade of B or better must be earned. If a grade of C or F is earned in the MSHSR graduate courses taken for BSCOMM credit, the student will be removed from the program, have credit awarded to the BSCOMM degree only, and may continue to complete the BSCOMM degree.

The Bachelor of Science in Emergency Services to Master of Science in Emergency Services Combined Program Pathway is for exceptional students who are committed to continuing their education through the master's degree. This fast-paced program is an accelerated bachelor's program leading to a master's degree in five academic years. The Combined Program Pathways option allows qualifying students to substitute three MSES graduate courses covering similar concepts and principles for three required courses.

Students who are accepted for Combined Program Pathways spend three academic years in undergraduate-level study. At the beginning of their senior year (having earned at least 75 credit hours with a 3.00 CGPA), may take up to three graduate-level courses that will meet undergraduate and graduate program requirements (when a B grade or better is achieved).  Students must complete a minimum of 120 undergraduate/graduate course credits for their Bachelor of Science degree.

Upon completion of the bachelor's degree requirements, students will be enrolled in graduate school and can complete their master's degree in one year. In any graduate course taken by an undergraduate student, a grade of B or better must be earned. If a grade of C or F is earned in any of the graduate courses taken for bachelor's credit, the student will be removed from Combined Program Pathways, have credit awarded to the bachelor's degree only, and may continue to complete the Bachelor of Science in Emergency Services degree.

Students initiate program acceptance through their Academic Advisor or Campus Advisor; to help ensure program criteria are met. Student Advisor will complete the request for processing into Combined Program Pathways.

The BSHS to MSHSR Combined Program Pathway is for exceptional students committed to continuing their education through the master's degree. This fast-paced program an accelerated BSHS leading to an M.S. in Human Security and Resilience (MSHSR) degree program in five academic years. The Combined Program Pathways option allows qualifying students to substitute either three MSHSR graduate courses covering similar concepts and principles for three required courses. 

Students accepted into the Combined Program Pathways spend three academic years in undergraduate-level study. At the beginning of their senior year (having earned at least 75 credit hours with a 3.00 CGPA), they may take up to three graduate-level courses that will meet undergraduate and graduate program requirements (when a B grade or better is achieved). Students must complete a minimum of 120 undergraduate/graduate course credits for their Bachelor of Science degree. 

Upon completion of the BSHS requirements, students will be enrolled in graduate school and can complete their MSHSR degree in one year. In any graduate course taken by an undergraduate student, the student must earn a grade of B or better. If the student earns a grade of C or F in any of the MSHSR graduate courses taken for BSHS credit, the student will be removed from the Combined Program Pathways, have credit awarded to the BSHS degree only, and may continue to complete the BSHS degree.

BSIS students, minoring in Homeland Security, or Emergency Services are eligible to participate in the Combined Program Pathways option with the M.S. in Human Security and Resilience (MSHSR) degree program. The BSIS Combined Program Pathways option creates new opportunities for students to participate in an advanced graduate program and the Military Studies minor allows students to transfer previously earned, upper-level, American Council on Education recommended military training credit.

Students who are accepted into Combined Program Pathways spend three academic years in undergraduate-level study, minoring in Homeland Security or Emergency Services. Then, at the beginning of their senior year (having earned at least 75 credit hours with a 3.00 CGPA), will take up to three graduate-level courses that will meet undergraduate and graduate program requirements (when a B grade or better is achieved).

Upon completion of the Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies requirements, students will be enrolled in graduate school and can complete their MSHSR degree in one year. In any graduate course taken by an undergraduate student, a grade of B or better must be earned. If a grade of C or F is earned in any of the MSHSR graduate courses taken for Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies credit, the student will be removed from Combined Program Pathways, have credit awarded to the bachelor's degree only, and may continue to complete that degree.

The BSPO-MSA Combined Program Pathways will challenge students and develop their knowledge and understanding of concepts in aeronautical science while integrating their skills in aviation and aerospace applications. Applicants must have at least a 3.00 CGPA and have demonstrated superior academic capability as described below.

Students desiring to enter this program should apply for combined program pathways during their senior year of study (at least 75 completed credit hours). Details of the program can be obtained from their academic advisor.

Students who are accepted into the program will spend three academic years in undergraduate-level study, then, during their senior year, will be allowed to take up to three graduate-level courses from their selected MSA specialization to replace an equal number of elective courses in the BSPO degree. MSA core courses cannot be selected as one of the three MSA courses selected.

For students wanting to pursue a master's degree, the Bachelor of Science in Safety Management to Master of Science in Occupational Safety Management Combined Program Pathways is now available to Occupational Safety Management specialization students only.

• Upon acceptance, students spend three academic years in undergraduate-level study, and during their senior year will take up to three graduate-level courses that will meet the undergraduate 400 level elective and graduate program core requirements (GPA restrictions apply).
• Upon completion of the Bachelor of Science in Safety Management requirements, students will be enrolled in graduate school and can complete their degree in one year (GPA restrictions apply).

This program is for exceptional students who are committed to continuing their education through the master’s degree. This fast-paced program allows qualifying students the opportunity to complete both the Bachelor of Science in Uncrewed and Autonomous Systems (BSUAS) and the Master of Science in Uncrewed and Autonomous Systems (MSUAS) in five academic years.

After spending three academic years in undergraduate-level study, BSUAS students who are accepted in the BSUAS-MSUAS Combined Program Pathways option will be allowed to take up to three MSUAS courses to replace an equal number of remaining BSUAS courses during their senior year. The selected courses can only replace BSUAS minor requirement or additional electives in each respective BSUAS track and may not replace program core or track support courses. Before selecting the courses to be taken, students must confer with an advisor to ensure that the courses selected are suitable and align with their selected MSUAS area of concentration. A grade level average of B or better must be maintained for selected MSUAS courses while enrolled in the BSUAS-MSUAS 4+1 program. Any final BSUAS credit hour requirements not accomplished through MSUAS course selection will have to be satisfied through upper level undergraduate electives. Upon successful BSUAS program requirement completion, students will be automatically enrolled in the MSUAS program and their chosen area of concentration and can complete their degree within one year.

Students who fail in any of their selected MSUAS courses or fail to maintain a grade average of B or better while still completing BSUAS degree requirements will be removed from the Combined Program Pathways option, have credit awarded to the BSUAS degree only, and may continue to complete their BSUAS degree program. In this case, published BSUAS minor requirements and/or upper level electives can be used to fulfill remaining BSUAS credit requirements.

This special program will challenge students and develop their knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes in the concepts of uncrewed systems while integrating their gained experience in uncrewed systems applications. As a minimum to be considered for acceptance to this BSUAS-MSUAS Combined Program Pathways option, applicant students must hold at least a 3.00 GPA, completed at least 75 credit hours of the BSUAS program requirements to apply and demonstrated superior academic capability.
