This course will offer students the chance to integrate all the knowledge and skills that have been presented in this program in addition to their own experience and professional goals into a single MIS project. Students will work with faculty to create and complete a substantive MIS project. The completion of the Capstone is considered a significant milestone demonstrating that all of the program outcomes have been achieved.
Focuses on project management principles, professional language, global standards, and ethics. Emphasis on project environments and roles of project managers.
Introduction to file and database systems, theory of database systems, various database models, and the design of a database system. Real-life problems requiring cooperation, problem formulation, and problem-solving skills. A team/group term project may be assigned.
Introduces key project management concepts and tools, including work breakdown structure, network diagrams, and critical path. Focuses on applying these tools to manage project scope, schedule, cost, and resources, following global standards.
The use of financial accounting information in business operations. The accounting cycle; adjusting entries; merchandising operations; inventory; depreciation; accounting for assets, liabilities, and stockholder's equity; financial statement analysis.
Examination of trends and challenges in global aviation maintenance. Topics include AI, cybersecurity, additive manufacturing, sustainability, drones as maintenance tools.
Exploration of the historical roots of modern leadership theory. Emphasis on understanding the context of leadership theories and applying them to modern environments.
Review of thermodynamics; heat, work, kinetic theory of gases; equation of state; thermodynamic systems; control volume; first and second laws of thermodynamics; reversible and irreversible processes; thermodynamic cycles.
Systems thinking and lifecycle considerations in engineering project management; project initiation, planning, monitoring, control, closeout activities, roles in project teams, communication, systematic planning, cost and risk evaluation.
Technologies, systems, and control of uncrewed aircraft; exploration of UAS, sensors, integration, robotic control; guided discussions, hands-on learning, basic programming.
Optimization of uncrewed systems configurations for operational tasks. Component and payload selection for real-world challenges while adhering to best practices and regulations.
Introduction to quality management systems and statistical process control techniques; quality thought leaders.
Environmental hazard prevention, mitigation, and compliance techniques. Focus on sustainable practices, environmental regulations, and strategic environmental management.
Overview of behavioral concepts affecting individual and group performance in organizations. Emphasis on research, theory, and practice.
Students are provided with an opportunity to explore incompressible flow airfoil theory and wing theory. Topics center on calculation of stall speed, drag and basic performance criteria, configuration changes, high and low speed conditions, special flight conditions, and an introduction to compressible flow.
Relevant principles, processes, and practices applied in organizations with a focus on effectively managing human resources; HR theories, philosophies, and functions; interrelationship of managers, organizational staff, and specialists; areas of concentration include human resource planning, recruitment and selection, training and development, compensation and benefits, safety and health, international HR, and managing HR in small and entrepreneurial firms.
