As an Air Reserve Technician, Maintenance Squadron Superintendent of F-16 aircraft at Homestead Air Reserve Base, Robert Michalak's charge is to support the 278 airmen who maintain the F-16's. He also keeps the aircraft and maintainers ready to deploy at a moment’s notice. Robert felt a huge sense of personal accomplishment when he received his Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Embry-Riddle and while it was a long, overdue dream come true, he wanted to continue to further his education and enrolled in the Master of Science in Aviation Maintenance program. Upon completion of his master’s degree, Robert hopes to remain in his current, professional role and then eventually transition to work for the FAA or NTSB. He also has a goal of becoming an educator for Embry-Riddle.
