Local engineers will have the opportunity to learn more about Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University ¬– Worldwide’s (ERAU-W) new Master of Systems Engineering (MSE) degree on Thursday, Aug. 18, at the Monaco Theater in Bridge Street Town Centre.

Hors d’oeuvres will be served from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by an informational session from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Interested candidates will have the opportunity to talk with high-level Embry-Riddle faculty who are experts in the field about the new program, which will be offered exclusively at the Huntsville ERAU-W Campus, and learn the value of earning an MSE. Often referred to as the MBA for the engineering field, the degree will specifically target current engineers with aspirations of moving into management and leadership positions.

CNN Money has ranked Systems Engineering among the 50 best jobs in America with demand and advancement opportunities continuing to rise through 2018.  An MSE from ERAU-W offers working adults in the field an opportunity to get ahead while maintaining their professional roles and studying through Worldwide’s on-campus, evening program.

Through the focused curriculum, students will establish a solid foundation of fundamental systems engineering knowledge, learning how to apply a systems perspective to business and technology. The program is offered in two tracks, allowing students to tailor their education to their career goals. The Technical track concentrates on system design, analysis, and implementation, while the Engineering Management track concentrates on organization, process, and management.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Alabama is one of six states that currently maintains the highest rates of employment in engineering. The MSE will be advantageous not only for graduates of this competitive program, but also for the local businesses who depend on these local engineers to remain in Huntsville to fill the leadership roles in system engineering.
