Embry-Riddle Worldwide Currently Has the Only FAA Approved Training Seminar for Airport Wildlife Control in the United States

In response to the FAA advisory circular 150/5200-36, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Worldwide, through its Office of Professional Education, has been conducting the Airport Wildlife Hazard Management Workshop since the fall of 2006.
The 3 day workshop is held 3 to 4 times a year at various locations in the United States and consists of two days of intensive classroom instruction as well as a field trip at a host airport. Workshops are conducted by a wildlife management consultant, a principal investigator and Embry-Riddle associate professor, a national coordinator for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (retired), and an aviation safety advocate.
Topics include:
- Wildlife population management and dispersal techniques
- Endangered species act compliance
- Strike reporting
- Wetlands mitigation
- Pesticides usage
- Drafting and implementation of integrated wildlife hazard management programs
- An overview of applicable local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and ordinances
