Dayton, OH, February 24, 2009 – Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Worldwide has announced the appointment of Debra J. Shull as the director of academic support for the Dayton Area campus.
Shull came to Embry-Riddle’s Dayton Area campus from Park University at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) where she held the title of campus center director. Shull was employed by Park University’s WPAFB campus for over 17 years. Additionally, Shull also served during her time at the Park University’s WPAFB campus as a secretary, program specialist, and assistant campus center director.
Shull holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Park University where she graduated magna cum laude and a master’s degree in Education and College Student Personnel Services and Counseling from the University of Dayton.
Shull’s director of academic support responsibilities include the recruitment and retention of students, scheduling courses, corporate development, marketing, advertising, public relations, budget management and the advising of students. Even though Shull worked for another university in the Dayton area, she knew that one-day Embry-Riddle would be the perfect place. “My father was an aeronautical engineer, who worked at WPAFB. I am excited to work at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University because I feel my journey in the educational field has brought me back to my family roots. ERAU is a progressive and innovative educational environment and I am very proud to be the director of academic support, at the Dayton Area campus”, stated Shull.
The Dayton Area campus, located in Dayton, Ohio, serves the greater Dayton area and serves students from the aviation and aerospace industry, in addition to the general business community. The campus has a yearly student enrollment in excess of a 1,000.
