"We are honored to be recognized by CIO magazine for our deployment and innovative use of EagleVision," said John R. Watret, Ph.D., Embry-Riddle Worldwide’s chief academic officer. "By virtually connecting our Worldwide classrooms together with EagleVision, we have been able to offer more courses, decrease faculty travel costs, and increase student satisfaction and retention."

"EagleVision has become a transformative technology for Embry-Riddle Worldwide through strong support from our academic leadership and by faculty who have embraced it to expand the reach of our live classroom and increase the learning opportunities of our students," said Becky Vasquez, Embry-Riddle Worldwide’s executive director of student and technology services.

Embry-Riddle Worldwide is now piloting a new version of EagleVision, powered by Saba Centra and Blackboard, that allows students and faculty to connect from the convenience of their home; each in a different location. The live virtual classroom provides an interactive, real-time learning environment with voice, video, application sharing, and collaboration tools that lead to an engaging learning experience. By continuing to use EagleVision for academic advancements, as well as administrative uses, Embry-Riddle Worldwide has a platform that will support their successes well into the future.

This year, CIO received 400 applications from companies looking to be considered for a CIO 100 award. First, companies filled out an online application form detailing their innovative practices in both business and IT. Next, a team of judges reviewed the applications in depth, looking for unique practices and substantial results. Finally, CIO editors reviewed the judges' recommendations and voted on the final 100. Once the top 100 honorees were selected, several were chosen to receive an additional award.
