Embry-Riddle Opens New Rockford Location

Daytona Beach, Fla., August 27, 2008 - Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Worldwide is opening a new campus at the Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD), in Rockford, Illinois.
"It’s a great venue to be actually in the aviation environment right here at the airport where real-life hands on experience is available," said Embry-Riddle Alumni Trustee Ken Dufour.
The Rockford location offers associates and bachelors degrees in Technical Management and Professional Aeronautics. Also available is the Master of Aeronautical Science (available with various specializations). Certificate programs are available in Aviation Safety and Airport Management.
"We’re very excited to be here in Rockford. The Rockford area is a major hub of the aviation/aerospace industry, and Embry-Riddle is looking forward to the opportunity to be a part of the community," said Melissa Aust-Barbee, Director of Academic Support of the Rockford campus.
"The Embry-Riddle program is world-renowned," Bob O’Brien, the Executive Director of the Chicago Rockford International Airport said. "This program, coupled with our existing relationship with Rock Valley College, Northern Illinois University and Kishwaukee College, in conjunction with our pending Aerospace Education, Research and Development Campus, will soon be the focus of the entire midwest for aerospace enthusiasts and professionals alike."
