State Authorization
It is the policy of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to administer its educational programs both on and off campus in a manner that is fair, equitable, academically sound and in accordance with the appropriate regulations and criteria of its governing board, accrediting association, and federal and state laws and regulations.
In accordance with U.S. Department of Education State Authorization Regulations:
Institutions must make their accreditation status, and documents that demonstrate their state, federal or tribal approval or licensing available to students on request. Institutions must also provide its students or prospective students with contact information for filing complaints with its accreditor and with its State approval licensing entity and any other relevant State official or agency that would appropriately handle a student’s complaint.
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide is authorized to operate physical campuses in 33 states. As state authorization requirements for distance education are dynamic and complex, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide is in the process of pursuing individual state authorization, as necessary, for its online course delivery.
ERAU Worldwide students are provided an opportunity to express any complaints, grievances, or disputes through the ERAU Worldwide support system.
Students are encouraged to first address any issues with the faculty or staff member for which the grievance is based. If unresolved, the student should provide a written document outlining the situation and submit it to their advisor at the Worldwide Campus location they attend or to their advisor in the Department of Online Learning. It may be necessary for the advisors to elevate the issue to the correct department chair, director or dean.
See a more detailed explanation of the ERAU Worldwide Student Complaint Process in the catalog.
Please note: Students are strongly encouraged to first address any issues with the university before filing a complaint with the State.
